Journal of Integrated Security Science

The Journal of Integrated Security Science (jiss) is aimed at publishing innovative scholarly manuscripts that make a significant contribution – theoretically or empirically – to all areas of physical security.

Of particular interest are articles that combine science, technology, and regulations to invent sophisticated yet practical solutions for securing assets in the various domains including:chemical and process industry, oil and gas industry, transportation systems including HAZMAT transportation, power plants (nuclear, LNG, etc.), pipelines, drinking water and water treatment systems, dams, commercial facilities, and government facilities.

Call for papers

 
The first issue of the Journal of Integrated Security Science will be published in December 2016. The journal invites original papers dealing with: 
  • Security risk assessment and management in hazardous industries and critical infrastructures
  • Innovative approaches for threat likelihood assessment
  • Attractiveness analysis
  • Vulnerability assessment under intentional events
  • Consequence analysis with an emphasis on cascading effects in interdependent infrastructures
  • Security-informed decision making and design
  • Optimization of security risk management strategies

Investigation of public terrorist attacks (e.g., terrorist attacks to restaurants) can be considered in the journal if it helps identify the trends, intents, capabilities, capacities, and presence of terrorist groups, which in turn can be used as leading security indicators/precursors for attacks to indutries/infrastructures.

The submission deadline is October 1, 2016.

Upon the acceptance of a paper, the authors will receive a Word template to prepare the article for publication.
